Update your launchers: BadWolfMC is now running Minecraft 26.3!
This is quite a bit more than a Minecraft version bump. Alongside Wilderness Bound, we’re introducing limited Fabric support (yes, shaders!), launching Continuum, expanding our pets system, updating the Resource Pack, and welcoming everyone to freshly reset resource worlds.
There’s a lot to unpack, so let’s get into it.
Welcome to Wilderness Bound
Minecraft 26.3 brings a little more wilderness to explore and a lot more possibilities for builders. The new Dappled Forest biome features poplar trees with red, orange, and yellow foliage just in time for autumn, along with fallen trees, shelf mushrooms, and red shrubs.
While exploring, you may also discover abandoned camps with loot and new explorer maps. There are some cozy additions, too: cushions you can sit on and straw beds that let you sleep through the night without changing your spawn point (though they’re single-use).
And for everyone who has ever wished they could finish a build without improvising around full blocks: wool and concrete now have stairs and slabs in every color. Finally!
You can read the full Minecraft Java Edition 26.3 release notes for all the additions and changes.
OptiWhat?! Fabric Support Is Here!
This is one we’ve been looking forward to: BadWolfMC now supports a limited selection of Fabric client mods. That includes approved shader-supporting and optimization mods, so you no longer need to wait for OptiFine to catch up before enjoying a more dramatic view of your favorite builds.
We’ve also introduced Guardian, our new system for checking supported client configurations. If you connect using Fabric, you’ll need Cerberus, a small companion mod that reports your loaded Fabric mods to Guardian so it can verify them against our approved list.
Vanilla Minecraft (both Java and Bedrock) and OptiFine remain supported. Fabric is optional, but if you choose to use it, Cerberus and an approved mod configuration are required. Guardian will explain when a Fabric setup doesn’t meet those requirements.
The approved list is deliberately limited, and we’re not accepting requests for additional mods at this time. Our guide explains what’s supported and how to get set up:

Go Streaking With Us! Introducing Continuum
Your adventures now come with a little extra incentive to keep coming back. Continuum is our new network-wide streak and goals system, built to celebrate the time you spend on BadWolfMC.
After 15 minutes of eligible play in a day, you’ll establish a Fixed Point and build your Continuity. Your progress follows you across the BadWolfMC network, so you aren’t tied to a single server.
But real life happens, and Continuum isn’t meant to punish you for having one. Along the way, you can:
- Earn milestones and complete Personal Goals for rewards and accomplishments.
- Use Time Locks to protect your Continuity when you miss a day.
- Use Polarity Reversals to repair eligible breaks in your streak.
- Schedule Vacation to preserve progress while you’re away.
- Connect with other players through Companion Continuity and Companion Goals.
- Work together on Community Goals across the server.
You’ll start with two Time Locks and one Polarity Reversal, so there’s already a little protection in your pocket.
Ready to go streaking? Use /streak in-game to explore Continuum, or read our Continuum Player Guide for the details.
Pets Are Going Places!
Our last update laid the groundwork for an overhaul of the pets system. Now we’re building on it with Mobility, a new family of skilltrees for rideable pets.
Depending on the pet, you can specialize in Packhorse (carrying and collecting), Warhorse (combat and protection), Trailblazer (speed and exploration), or Seafarer (aquatic adventures). Different pets have access to different specializations, giving you more ways to make your traveling companion your own.
We’re also expanding the pet roster:
- Goats are now available as a base pet to all members.
- Camel husks, nautiluses, parched, ravagers, and zombie nautiluses join the collection of available pets.
There’s plenty to discover, whether your ideal pet is a loyal friend, an adventurous mount, or something a little more terrifying. More information can be found in the usual place.
Fresh Resource Worlds & Updated Resource Pack
The resource worlds on Alpha and Gamma have already been reset, bringing fresh terrain and new places to explore, including the features from Minecraft 26.3.
A reminder: Homes and saved locations in the old resource worlds may no longer lead where you expect. Be careful with your first teleport after the reset. Your permanent builds, of course, are safe on Gallifrey and Trenzalore.
We’ve also updated the BadWolfMC Resource Pack for this release. Make sure you’ve downloaded the latest version so you can enjoy the updated content as intended.
